Press release: Art Exhibition





Award winning artist Frantisek Strouhal’s figurative artwork “Aurora” was chosen for a National Art Exhibition at the Old Courthouse, Centre for the Arts, in Kamloops... He was juried for inclusion into the “2016 Open Show”. The dates for this exhibition are April 22nd 2016 through May 1st 2016.

Frantisek Strouhal lives and works in the West Kootenay region. He is internationally admired for his flawless use

of traditional 19thcentury techniques combined with his unique contemporary yet timeless artistic vision.

Strouhal says that his work is a reflection of his own renaissance. His subjects seem to emerge from a surreal, dreamlike pool of warm sepia tones as if bathed or suspended in an ethereal vapor. Regarding this art show Strouhal states “I am very pleased and gratified to have been chosen to participate in the 2016 Open Show in Kamloops. It is nice to be recognized locally and nationally. ”

He is the owner of Mirage Studio, where he spends most of his time creating new Artworks and doing portraits on commission. His works are in many private collections and has been featured in numerous juried and invitational exhibitions internationally.
